Job Description
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of study preferred.

Knowledge or interest in learning about the Orton-Gillingham approach is essential.

Complete Appalachian Reading Center pre-service training program and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Tutor children and/or adults with language-based reading problems (such as dyslexia) by following the instructor manual and carrying out systematic instructions.

Prepare and execute engaging, individualized lesson plans at appropriate student levels.

Maintain excellent student progress records and complete periodic reports.

Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with fellow staff, students, parents, and administrators.
